I was born and raised in Galway and studied History. I love sharing the stories, legends and little-known facts about my city in a relaxed, entertaining way, always with plenty of humour. I also draw inspiration from seanchas, Ireland’s long tradition of oral storytelling. I speak English, Spanish and Irish, and I like to include a few Irish words and expressions during the tour so that visitors feel even more connected to the stories and local culture. Una pregunta que me hacéis a menudo en los tours: ¿cuánto cuesta comprar una casa en Irlanda? En toda Europa, los precios en el mercado de la vivienda se han disparado. Irlanda no es una excepción y nuestro principal desafío es la extrema escasez. Algo que muchos están haciendo para poder acceder a su primera vivienda, es restaurar propiedades en mal estado o construir de cero en terrenos que ya tenían una ruina y por lo tanto, son edificables. Mi intención era daros un par de referencias para que os hagáis una idea. Otra pregunta que me hacen mucho es cuál es el salario medio y el salario mínimo. Esa la dejo para el próximo post 🫶🏻 P.S. Nos adentramos en Ross Errilly Friary (Condado de Galway) 🏛️✨ Una joya franciscana del siglo...

Este bosque es puro arte y pura magia: Knockma Forest 🌿✨ Es el hogar del rey Finvara, rey de las hadas y los espíritus de la naturaleza. También es donde descansa Maeve, la reina guerrera de Connacht que fue venerada en vida como reina de las hadas, que la consideraban una poderosa deidad de la fertilidad y la soberanía terrenal. Aquí me veis con la reina, con un toro grabado en el escudo. El toro es el símbolo de Maeve, porque representa la fuerza, la riqueza y el poder terrenal. Además, es un guiño a su hazaña más famosa. El paseo por el bosque está lleno de estatuas de madera con simbología mitológica. También te encontrarás decenas de puertecitas al pie de los árboles (casas de hada) Paisajes tan verdes y dramáticos que parecen sacados de El Señor de los Anillos 🏔️ y unas vistas increíbles cuando alcanzas la cima de la colina.

La joya irlandesa que ha dado la vuelta al mundo: el anillo de Claddagh Claddagh era una aldea de pescadores asentada en la desembocadura del río Corrib, justo frente a la ciudad de Galway. Era una comunidad muy unida y hasta tuvieron su propio rey y reina hasta hace poco. En el siglo XIX hicieron de este anillo su seña de identidad. Y hoy, representa muchas cosas. En el mundo anglosajón es un conocido símbolo de la nación de Irlanda. PERO, dentro del país, es un símbolo de amor, amistad y lealtad🌟 ¿Conoces la leyenda detrás del anillo? Si no la conoces, no te preocupes, lo más importante es que lo lleves puesto correctamente 😉 Este anillo, dependiendo de la forma en que lo lleves puesto, nos informa de si estás soltero o buscando a tu amor 👀 Y créeme: aquí en Galway todo el mundo se fija… ¿Sabes cómo ponértelo para comunicarte correctamente? I didn’t see it coming, but September turned out to be the busiest month of the year! Between shaping a whole new project — fresh brand, website, tour offerings, and marketing strategy — and diving deep into research for both my upcoming tours and the Fáilte Ireland guiding course, it’s been full on. On top of that, I moved into my own place for the first time (finally!) — with a few emotional wobbles and way too many trips to IKEA — thankfully softened by some much-needed family visits. Through it all, every tour has been my anchor.
